- We are experiencing trouble in sharing a phone line between two
- computers. Anybodies help would be appreciated...
-
- Here is the situation:
-
- We have a DECxlPC 590 with an internal USR 28.8 modem trying to share
- a phone line with a portable that uses a Noteworthy 28.8 PCMCIA card.
- As long as we leave the phone line plugged in to the modem on the DEC
- (even when turned-off), we cannot connect to anything faster than
- 19.6. The USR/DEC also connects at this speed. But if we replace the
- internal USR on the DEC with an external USR Courier 28.8, we can
- connect from the DEC or the portable at 28.8 .... What on earth is
- going on?
