  11. We are experiencing trouble in sharing a phone line between two
  12. computers. Anybodies help would be appreciated...

  14. Here is the situation:

  16. We have a DECxlPC 590 with an internal USR 28.8 modem trying to share
  17. a phone line with a portable that uses a Noteworthy 28.8  PCMCIA card.
  18. As long as we leave the phone line plugged in to the modem on the DEC
  19. (even when turned-off),  we cannot connect to anything faster than
  20. 19.6. The USR/DEC also connects at this speed. But if we replace the
  21. internal USR on the DEC with an external USR Courier 28.8, we can
  22. connect from the DEC or the portable at 28.8 .... What on earth is
  23. going on?
